New Year’s Resolution- get Training!

It’s coming up on the new year, and around this time of year, people are planning their resolutions for the coming 12 months. We’re here to convince you to try Kyuzo, Dublin’s number one place for beginner martial arts. So if you’re not sure what your resolution will be yet, read on and see if we can convince you to come and train with us. We’re also going to share a secret with you later in the article. We’re going to tell you the answer to this:

What is the most difficult part of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Mixed Martial Arts Training?

Read on to find out the answer. You might be very surprised!

First of all, who are we? Well, we are Dublin’s number one place to come if you are a beginner to martial arts, MMA, or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Our friendly and welcoming atmosphere, outstanding facilities, and great instruction make our gym the perfect choice for anyone looking to start out in martial arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or MMA. In fact, we’ve been doing it since 2003. That’s over a decade’s experience in training beginners right here in Dublin.

Secondly, what do we do? We are a Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club, based in Glasnevin in Dublin. We are located on the border of Finglas, Glasnevin, and Cabra, with easy access to Dublin’s surrounding areas by bus (the 40 stops outside) and rail (we’re a few minutes from Broombridge Station). We run regular Beginner Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Beginner Mixed Martial Arts, and coming in 2014, Beginner Kickboxing courses. Our classes are suitable for those with zero experience in combat sports, and for those looking to expand their tools. We pride ourselves on our ability to get the best out of every beginner who walks in our door. We welcome everyone, regardless of their level of fitness or their current abilities.

What makes us so successful at coaching beginners is our high level instruction, our team atmosphere, and our specially designed beginner courses. Our coaching staff are qualified and experienced, and will get the very best from you. We are also committed to making Kyuzo the best and most welcoming environment for anyone who walks in the door. When you come in, you’re not just a number, you’re a new team mate, and everyone here will help you get better, from the coaches, right through to you fellow trainees.

But it’s our beginner focus that really sets us apart. We run regular 16 week courses in Beginner Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Beginner Mixed Martial Arts, and from March 2014, Beginner Kickboxing, right here in our North Dublin Gym. It is our aim to make training in the combat sports accessible to everyone. We do not require a minimum level of fitness. In fact, you’ll find that your fitness will increase with training in one of our beginner classes. Lots of others have started out with the goal of just getting fit and have found that they even went on to compete. Have a look at some of their stories here.

Earlier we said we’d answer the big question. What is the most difficult part of training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed martial Arts. Thanks to our experience in beginner martial arts, we know what the hardest part of training is, because we’ve heard the same story from everyone who has ever walked in our door of our Dublin Gym. Here’s the answer!

The most difficult part of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Mixed Martial Arts training is plucking up the courage to walk in the door for the first time.

Does that surprise you? It’s consistent right across the board. We’re not saying that training is easy, in fact training is challenging (it wouldn’t be fun if it wasn’t) But no step you will ever take in training will be as difficult as stepping through the door into the unknown for the first time. We make that bit easy. Our beginner courses mean that you won’t be walking in the door to meet a bunch of intimidating, very experienced fighters. In fact, you’ll be training with other beginners, just like you. Of course, you’ll have the chance to advance into our more experienced group if that’s what you want to do, but for now, let’s get you down here to start. And don’t worry, our coaches aren’t meathead Sensei types, shouting and roaring at you. We have friendly and experienced Beginner friendly coaches in our gym, and their job is to make you progress, not make you miserable!

If you are a beginner to the martial arts, an MMA fan who has always wanted to try the sport, or if you’re just interested in getting fit with a new sport, then why not contact to see what we can do for you.

Don’t wait til tomorrow (hint; it never comes!), contact us right now. If you’re reading this, then you probably have some time to drop us a quick mail to , or to call us on 0834259066. It will only take a minute but could be worth a lifetime of great training!

Thanks for reading, we hope to see you in 2014!

P.S. We have a new Beginner Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Course starting on January 13th. This is a great opportunity to start, but there are only 11 spaces left as of this morning. Contact martin@kyuzogym for more information!
