Female Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Martial Arts are a hard sell for girls generally, but Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the grappling arts tend to be even more difficult to get into.

We’re very proud of our diversity at Kyuzo, and we actively try to recruit female members. The girls are still outnumbered, but we can see signs that our policies are starting to pay off, as a small but dedicated group of female martial artists are now among the largest growth areas in our membership.

We think that has a lot to do with the strong female role models we have here. We have one of Ireland’s original female MMA fighters and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt Amanda English here since 2006, and our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team is captained by one of our top competitors Jessica Ryan.

And our newer members have been making waves too, beginning to compete and generally becoming a positive influence on the mat with their dedication and work ethic.

If you think you’d like to start training, doing so is easy, fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch about getting you set up and started!
