At Kyuzo we have dedicated, age appropriate classes 6 days per week in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Our classes are fun and safe, and while we instill traditional martial arts values like respect and self control, we also follow modern training methods to develop coordination, agility, balance, and fitness in young children.
We have 3 main streams:
Pee Wee, age 4-7yrs
Fun and games. Fundamental techniques, and smiles!
Juniors, aged 8-14yrs
Kids learn focus, coordination, agility, and balance. The focus is on developing correct movement and technique for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Juveniles, aged 14+
Fighting technique, strength and fitness, movement, and competition. The Juveniles also benefit from age-appropriate gym work.
WE TEACH THROUGH FUN AND GAMES!
We are training kids for the future, not just for now, so we promote health, fitness, and the idea that training is something we do for life, not for a chore. Kids are challenged, but not pressured, and each child develops at different rates.
Advice for Parents:
– Bring a water bottle for your child. Water is available to purchase for €1 in the gym if you forget.
– They’re going to sweat! If this is their first class, shorts/tracksuit bottoms and a tee shirt is fine.
– The mat is a hygienic area, so no shoes are allowed on it. Likewise, do not allow your child to walk in bare feet off the mat.
– Let the coaches do the coaching. Coaching from parents is not allowed and disrupts the class.
