Bank Holiday Gladiators!

We held a nice little Bank Holiday session on Monday night. A fun way to train on what was an absolutely miserable evening! While the wind and rain lashed away outside, we split the 12 people who braved the weather into two teams of 6, Team Garda and Team Ginger for the Bank Holiday Gladiator Tournament!

First up was Barbarian- kind of a hybrid of basketball, Olympic handball, Wrestling, and Mass Murder. Team Garda came out on top thanks to their physicality by a score of 7-2.

After that, it was peg wrestling. Two people face each other with 6 clothes pegs each attached to their clothes. The winner is the wrestler who removes all of the pegs from the opponent’s person first. This one came down to the last match where Mark managed to score to win the day for team Garda 4-3.

This meant that Team Ginger were fighting for their pride in the First Score game. In this, 3 of your team sit out and have 7 minutes to score as many points as possible against the 6 members of the other team who come out as per the usual first score training drill. You get one point if you sweep or get a dominant position on your opponent, and two points if you make them tap. Team Ginger lead 13-10 after the first half, but Team Garda pulled level to tie up the final game 26-26.
